“Here is a band worth getting very excited about.
Look no further to satisfy your search for tough pop hooks.” --Shake It Up Magazine

MARK WATSON BAND’s sound can be traced back to the suburbs of Chicago when Mark Watson would sit in his basement and play his favorite albums on his parents’ stereo. The guitar rock of Kiss and Cheap Trick competed for airplay with the pure melodies and harmonies of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys. Mark Watson Band showcases these influences to create the modern power pop sound that earned the band critical raves for “coulda…shoulda…woulda”, their full-length album released in 2000 on Big Blast Records. The single, “The King Of Big Mistakes” received airplay on over 80 college, public, and international radio stations from as far away as Australia, Portugal, and Turkey. The song drew praise from many DJs and critics. The Buffalo Beat said, "’The King Of Big Mistakes’ should be on power pop compilations for years to come.” The band followed the release of the album by performing and perfecting their live show. The band played at the historic Park West Theatre in Chicago, numerous summer festivals, and completed mini-tours. They were also a featured performer at the International Pop Overthrow Festival in Los Angeles. The band consistently wins over fans with their energetic and irresistible guitar pop. Audiences can relate to the sharp, intelligent lyrics about everyday life. Shake It Up adds, “Watson may turn out to be one of the more underrated writers in pop today – the man has remarkable pop instincts.” The band is currently in the studio finishing up tracks for their upcoming release. The new music features bigger guitars and more bite while retaining all the tunefulness of their previous work. After putting together a new line-up and performing many of the new songs live, the band was excited to try and capture the energy and excitement of the music in the studio. Mission accomplished. The first two songs, “Beautiful” and “Falling For You”, can be heard on the band’s advance promotional CD. With rock music containing irresistible hooks, memorable choruses, loud melodic guitars, and intelligent lyrics, MARK WATSON BAND is looking forward to the future.

KEVIN LEE

Modern-day guitar rock is a funny thing. The elements and attitudes all seem fairly obvious from the outside, yet many writers fall short of the hooks and structures they need to propel themselves into the pop song skyline. The best writers in the genre have a gift for profound simplicity and direct communication coupled with an ability to make three chords sound like the most important thing in the world. Chicago's KEVIN LEE is one of those writers. Kevin crafts highly melodic pop/rock and roll songs in a modern context. His sound is a mix of old school musical chops, vocal ability, and present-day guitar edge. A powerful singer, guitarist, and performer, KEVIN LEE is a pure pop/rock pleasure awaiting your discovery.

Followers of crafty guitar pop/rock may recognize Kevin's name from his days as Kevin Lee and the Lonesome City Kings. Signed to MCA, the band worked with Grammy-winning producer Frank Fillipetti ( Korn, Kiss, Foreigner ) and producer Don Dixon ( REM, Smithereens ) to record the album "Restless". The record led to live dates with Matthew Sweet and Pearl Jam. The single "Standing in the Line of Fire" was chosen for an NBA All stars video, and used in the movie "A Dangerous Woman", and received substantial airplay on several P1 stations across America. Not content to rest on past achievements Lee released his first solo album "Walk A Mile In My Shoes", in 1998 on Bubblehaus Records. Lee is also a hard-working live performer consistently criss-crossing the Midwest with his band.

In 2002 Kevin released the cd "Loaded" on Chicago-based Big Blast Records. The record is another long drive through Lee's pop/rock landscape that is made all the more enjoyable due to a more highly-evolved production approach. One of the highlights of the cd is "Right Here With Me", an emotive ballad with a strong hook. the album also contains such car-radio ready rock numbers as the opening cut "Where Do We Go From Here?" and "Find A Way", which features a chugging mid-tempo guitar groove and Beatle-esque harmonies.

Kevin is pleased to announce the release of his new record "Flip The Switch". Co-producing with producer/engineer Josh Shapera has brought a new modern rock edge to Lee's songs. Opening with the hook filled "Built to Burn", this record rocks harder than Lee's previous efforts. The album also features the anthemic "Save Me Tonight", and the radio friendly "All I Want".

Fans of powerful pop/rock music would do well to give KEVIN LEE a listen. His natural tunefulness makes him the perfect choice for stage, screen, and radio. He has proven himself capable of performing at the top level of the music industry in the past and his new cd "Flip The Switch" will again bring him national attention as a songwriter and performer of the finest kind. If hooky, well played rock and roll is what you crave, look no further. KEVIN LEE is what you need.
